Dow Chemical NGL Trader in Zurich, Switzerland
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity for a NGL Trader . This position is located in Horgen, Switzerland .
The NGL Trader will be part of the Feedstocks & Energy global Risk team.
Dow consumes significant volume of natural gas liquids (NGLs) in the United States & Europe for the production of ethylene, propylene and other olefins products which are then used as feedstock to produce further Dow downstream derivatives/products. The NGL Commodity Risk management is responsible to actively hedge & trade price volatility in the global markets in order to minimize the impact and add value to Dow earnings especially during periods of NGL and energy market volatility.
The NGL Trader will be responsible for:
Managing (trade & Hedge) Dow's exposure to NGL prices in the short, mid and long term.
Leading NGL fundamental Deep Dives and collaborating with the Fundamentals group;
Quantifying Dow’s NGL exposure;
Developing and maintaining NGL supply / demand and pricing forecast models;
Position Management, reporting & compliance.
Preparing weekly strategy documents, business/market updates and presentations to executive management;
Delivering operations updates and chairing operations meetings;
Delivering quarterly Feedstock updates to Investor Relations.
As the NGL Trader grows in their understanding of Dow's positions and market fundamentals, they will become an increasingly integral part of the strategic decision making process for risk management activities, including decisions of where to locate new petrochemical facilities, the long term physical acquisition of feedstock, and capital project / asset sale initiatives.
The job will require interaction with global Feedstock and Energy teams, Dow's financial organization and external parties on a daily basis.
Examples of Goals Typical for this Job:
Deliver positive P&L, range capture metrics & added value from trading activities.
Develop models that improve understanding and forecasting of NGL markets.
B.SC degree in finance or economics or equivalent with 3-5 years experience in NGL trading (physical or paper) especially propane.
A Master's degree is preferred
Previous experience in trading derivatives (options , swaps & futures).
previous experience in Hydrocarbons & Energy is a plus.
Strong command of English
