Lutheran SeniorLife Household Assistant in Zelienople, Pennsylvania

The Household Assistant is responsible for the function of the assigned household kitchen, including meal preparation, service and cleanup, as well as the overall cleanliness of the Household. The Household Assistant will be a fully integrated household team member to ensure the residents' needs are met.

  • Responsible to ensure that the varied needs of the residents are met by focusing on the residents' choices regarding their daily life.

  • Provides for and or prepares all meals and dietary needs for the household.

  • Assists the household staff in the serving of all resident meals.

  • Properly stores and rotates all food items in the household.

  • Responsible for the clean-up, sanitation and project cleaning for the dining room and kitchen.

  • Restocks kitchen and pantry for their assigned household.

  • Cleans the household rooms and common areas using routine cleaning standards as well as those performed on a project basis.

  • Cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment after each use and reports malfunctions to the Household Coordinator.

  • Assists in providing activities for residents in their household, conducting programs, visits and activities geared to the interest and abilities of the residents.

  • Complies with established policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices including safety, infection control and sanitation regulations for housekeeping, dietary, laundry and activities.

  • Follows the "Resident Rights" policies at all times.

  • Attends and participates in improvement activities.

  • Attends all in-service and training sessions relevant to the position.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • High school graduate or GED required.

  • Required completion of cross training as assigned for homemaking, household activities, housekeeping, and household laundry, food service and food handling (Serve Safe).

  • Experience working in a long-term care environment and creating successful relationships with residents and family members preferred.

  • Experience and knowledge in hospitality setting preferred.
