KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Independence to join our Independence group, which is part of KPMG's Legal, Risk and Regulatory organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the firm and its personnel with maintaining independence in accordance with professional standards and firm policies

  • Interact with partners and employees to provide Independence policy guidance and to resolve questions regarding the application of Independence standards

  • Provide advice regarding the scope of services that may be provided to audit clients and their affiliates

  • Leverage research, critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate the Firm's Independence/relationships with respect to existing and prospective audit clients

  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures; identify and aid with implementation of process enhancements and improvements

  • Partake in special projects on ad hoc and on-going basis

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years of business experience preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Ability to build relationships, networks and credibility with numerous constituents along with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, track and organize large amounts of information from multiple sources

  • Experience responding to complex inquiries, performing research, analyzing data and identifying potential issue

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
