This job was posted by https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov : For more information, please see: https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov/ada/r/jobs/6209233 The NOC Analyst will serve as a technical and subject matter expert for the Wintrust Network Operations Center (NOC) which provides 24x7x365 support for the data network and applications, including implementation of documented NOC policies and procedures that support core organizational functions. The NOC Analyst will follow basic triage steps, monitor production systems and assure their high availability. The NOC Analyst will be required to react to a myriad of alarms and notifications, take specific actions based on priority, and understand the business purpose of organizations and departments throughout the infrastructure. The successful candidate will proactively look for ways to improve processes, look for inefficiencies, and document new processes as they evolve. Area of Responsibility:


+ Subject Matter Expert on SolarWinds and associated modules, and growing and maintaining the SolarWinds application infrastructure


+ Work with the Network/Systems/Applications teams and SolarWinds Support to troubleshoot and understand system faults and application performance issues


+ Develop, support and manage complex Alerts, Reports, and Views


+ Respond to NOC alerts in a timely manner and initiate network policies & procedures to restore network service


+ Coordinate the resolution with field personnel, NOC management team, and vendor support teams


+ Identify, isolate and help resolve network, Power and Environmental and customer impacting issues in a 24x7x365 environment


+ Make decisions and take actions to prevent network interruptions and service degradation. Work chronic issues as defined by management


+ Review alarm logs daily to ensure alarms are being properly addressed. Acts as first level escalation point of contact


+ Provide technical and analytical support in determining the root cause of network problems and implement action plans based on policies and/or guidelines, and NOC departmental processes and procedures


+ Perform equipment diagnostics, follow vendor-troubleshooting procedures, and take corrective actions based on analytical results to ensure uninterrupted network service.


+ Assist other technicians with their technical development in the use of monitoring tools, network structure and applications.


+ Utilize NOC support subsystems and produce accurate trouble tickets and activity reports


+ Demonstrate a good balance of technical knowledge and customer support skills


+ Identify, diagnose, and resolve problems affecting network performance and escalate to higher tier support using time based and severity criteria


+ Recommend solutions to correct network trouble issues and faults


+ Validate problem descriptions and perform detailed problem diagnosis; track and update problems in trouble-ticketing system

Minimum Requirements


+ 5 years of experience with IT/LAN/WAN in an operations or help-desk environment


+ 5 years of troubleshooting network elements, protocols, services, and transport layer problems


+ 5 years of experience with SolarWinds and associated modules


+ Knowledge of BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN and the ability to learn new products and services.


+ Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, ATM, Frame Relay and ADSL


+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written


+ Strong attention to detail


+ Customer Service orientation


+ Technical troubleshooting and problem solving across basic networking and software usage


+ Ability to provide thorough and accurate documentation of issues in applicable data systems


+ Ability to work successfully in a team env ronment


+ Demonstrated technical skills in data networking


+ Demonstrated knowledge of broadband equipment, protocols, and networking


+ Experience with Cisco technologies, as well as a variety of other data network equipment
