Associate CNC Programmer
Essential Job Functions:
Provide manufacturing engineering solutions in the areas of process planning, shop support activities and project leadership.
Provide engineering support to customer's manufacturing & assembly organizations to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
Program VTL’s (Vertical Turret Lathe’s) ,Turning, and Milling with optional 5 and 6 axis programming (not needed, but a bonus)
Select proper tooling and setups needed to obtain fit and finish of the part desired by the customer.
Interpret customers’ CNC needs and be able to convert that to a working program.
Drive improvements in all related manufacturing processes, including those related to products, equipment, and product quality for customers
Secondary Job Functions:
Develop work instructions to implement best practices / lessons learned and ensure repeatability
Collaborate, and assist in training other QuEST Team Members.
Participate in technical reviews within your knowledge base
Support project management and program management to help quote and close work packages
Specialized Knowledge / Skills
Broad and hands-on knowledge on various manufacturing processes required including specialized materials
Required to be able to write subroutines, know how to read POSTs code and create/convert NX CAD models into Vericut programs.
Expert in interpreting the GD&T (standards ASME Y 14.5, JES 161).
Knowledge in Measurements system analysis (MSA).
Hands on experience in various machining, involving CNC and conventional methods and assembly techniques.
Good knowledge on Quality Notifications, containment procedures and traceability techniques.
Familiarity with manual G code & M code editing and programming.
Knowledgeable in methods of inspection & Gauging concepts.
Data collection and Analysis using QC tools and other SPC techniques
Some Experience/knowledge in APQP, PPAP, LEAN & 5S management
Exposure to Aero/ Auto industry is preferred
Familiar with aerospace/auto quality requirements (AS9100, OSHAS, TS 16949, various ISO )
Familiar with NADCAP programs for Aero space (Civil & Defense) parts
Education, Training, and Experience
AS in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, BS is preferred
Minimum hands on experience in Manufacturing Engineering 2-5 years
