National Lutheran Communities and Services Physical Therapy Assistant in Winchester, Virginia
We are looking for qualified candidates to serve our clients in the following counties in Virginia: Winchester, Page, Frederick, Warren, Augusta, Shenandoah and Rockingham.
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) administers physical therapy to clients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Physical Therapist (PT).
Understands and adheres to established NLCS policies and procedures. Provides physician prescribed physical therapy under a plan of care established by the PT. Improves or minimizes residual physical disabilities of the client. Returns the client to optimum and productive level within the client’s capabilities. Participates with all other health care personnel in client care planning. Performs all skilled procedures as ordered by physician and according to the plan of care established by the PT. Consults with PT regarding change in treatment. Instructs clients and family members in home programs and activities of daily living. Participates in in-service programs and presents in-service programs as assigned. Participates in performance improvement activities as assigned. Attends all client care conferences as scheduled. Prepares medical records, progress notes and updates care plans for each client visit in a timely manner as per Agency policy. Performs services planned, delegated and supervised by the PT. Assists in preparing clinical and progress notes. Participates in educating the client and family. Other duties as assigned. Specifically, the Physical Therapy Assistant is required for the following:
Attends and participates in facility training programs as scheduled, to include In-Service Training. Fulfills monthly educational obligations Able to complete company training courses online, including online quizzes Must be a self-learner Participate in classes in personal effectiveness as appropriate JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing Two (2) years’ experience, preferred Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license Must have and maintain current CPR
