Newell Brands Associate Manager, Plant Finance - Rubbermaid Commerical Products in Winchester, Virginia

Job Summary:

The Finance Leader functions as a business support lead to the Plant Controller for the Winchester plant locations for Rubbermaid Commercial Products. Core activities include analytical efforts associated with understanding plant and/or distribution costs, material pricing, inventory, supporting the monthly financial close, and cost reduction monitoring. Works closely with manufacturing and distribution to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as communicate with senior management.

The Finance Leader’s key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Monitor spending andassist with/support cost reduction/monitoring tactics.

  • Monitor Material pricing and variance accounts for the Winchester plants.

  • Assist with annual cost standard setting and budgeting process

  • Month end Inventory analysis and reporting.

  • Prepare monthlyroyalty accrual and related payment requests.

  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for month endfinancial close.

  • Monitor spending vs.forecast and report on variances for one or more plants or sets of costcenters.

  • Prepare monthlyfinancial reporting and related commentary

  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support plant operations and/or divisional workstreams.

  • Recommend, implement and monitor process improvements.

  • Support internal and external audits.

  • Provide strong communicationto the business on actionable items

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated byresponsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Analysis, Accountingexperience (7-10 years) able to demonstrate with examples.

  • A Bachelor's or MBA from an accredited institution or CPA

  • An ability to work with people at all levels of an organization and in avariety of disciplines

  • Strong Computer Skills with advanced to Expert level in Excel

  • Standard Cost Knowledge & Experience

  • Financial and Variance Analysis as well as Modeling Experience

  • Works Well in Teams - Strong communication skills

  • Proactive Team Player

  • Takes Initiative

  • Strong attention todetails and adheres to provided deadlines

  • Cost Accounting experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP experience, a plus
