Leggett and Platt, Incorporated is looking for a Quality Control Manager to join our Winchester Spring operation in Winchester, Kentucky. This essential position will report to the Branch Manager and manage the facility’s Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and competent professional with knowledge of products and processes within the Bedding Industry.

Work with branch QA teams to ensure proper implementation and improvement of Quality procedures and initiatives
Lead in identification, problem solving and process improvement for all areas that comprise the Winchester Spring Operation
Perform product audits to assure compliance to specifications and consistency of production by monitoring process outputs
Communicate with operation leadership and on-site engineers to inform of any quality related issues or opportunities for improvement
Drive immediate action on quality outputs showing non-conformance and complete the needed actions to meet quality goals and objectives
Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
Determine best practices for standardization of quality monitoring gauges and processes
Make quality outputs visible to manufacturing leaders
Communicate with external customers in relation to corrective actions and customer audits
Improve and maintain the corrective action system aiming to capture all types of quality performance feedback received (verbal, returns, credits issued, formal corrective action requests)
Implement continuous improvement and process quality monitoring mechanisms, including analysis of the 4M inputs
Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Educational background in Engineering, Manufacturing or Business Management is desirable
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferable or willingness to attain it within first year of starting this position
Experience with compliance requirements to ISO 9001 or similar quality management system
Experience with Production Process & Product Approval is preferred
Good numerical skills, data analysis/statistical methods
Good knowledge of MS Office and databases
Outstanding communication skills – oral and written
Great attention to detail and a results driven approach
