JOB DESCRIPTION

Basic Function:

Maintain inventory levels of current and past model service parts at levels that support daily shipping requirements. Coordinate deliveries of materials with suppliers, freight carriers and customers to maximize cost effectiveness within given time constraints.

The Materials Coordinator and all team members have the right and responsibility to shut down the line in the event of a safety or quality issue.

Special Duties:

Ensure material releases are successfully transmitted and received by our suppliers on a weekly basis. Forward releases and/or Production schedules to the suppliers via EDI, fax or email. Monitor daily delivery schedules to prevent part shortages. Communicate with suppliers when potential supply interruptions are discovered. Immediate communication to Materials Manager of any material shortages that will cause a past due condition with our customer. Secures prior approval from Materials Manager for any expedited/premium freight. Coordinate actual receipts and discrepancies with the Receiving Department. Key inventory transactions into computerized database daily. Audit inventory transactions and enter adjustments. Investigate and determine root cause of inventory discrepancies between SMART and MFG-PRO Responsible for discrepant material processing Monitor slow moving inventory and assist the Material Manager in identifying such parts Logistics Coordination with both customers and suppliers Communication with customer on a daily basis reviewing order status to meet customers' expectations Ability to navigate and update information in Customers web-based systems Load and update Customer(s) releases as needed. Ensure all ASNs are sent to the customer(s) prior to end of shift activities. Update daily back order reports Perform back-up duties for your Material Coordinator as needed Assists various other departments such as Accounting, Receiving, and Shipping in resolution of discrepancies. Responsible for updating and maintaining of computer data to ensure database integrity. Utilize methods for continuous improvement. Ability to multi-task Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager Adhere to all customer specific requirements. Safety

Participate in workplace safety and health meetings.

Participate in the appropriate safety and health, accident prevention and investigating training.

Participate in measures and practices that prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA Standards. This includes: continuously monitoring the workplace for hazardous safety and health conditions.

Assist in accident investigation which includes identifying hazardous situations that are associated with the accident

Participate in the COACH Safety Program by submitting a minimum of 1 safety observation per month.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Materials Manager

Education Required:

High school diploma with college degree preferred. Will consider work experience in lieu of college course work.

Excellent working knowledge of P.C.s and be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.

Experience Required:

Two to three years' experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to inventory management, production control and purchasing is required.

Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as problem solving skills are required.

Must be detail oriented with an excellent attendance record
