What You Will Be Doing

The Senior Project Manager is accountable to the Operations Manager for the financial results and client satisfaction on multiple projects. Defines and is responsible for achievement of project SQP goals, contributes to the development and implementation of Company-wide initiatives, develops co-workers, and participates in the business planning and performance of BURG. Responsible for safety on the projects by perpetuating the IIF culture.

Duties and Responsibilities

Contirbutes to the Pre-Construction Processes: Collaborates with Pre-Construction to lead the proposal generation effort. Monitors the pulse of the prospective client. Provides input to Pre-Construction regarding client expectations and upcoming work. Oversees the development of the construction schedule framework. Reviews the contract, scope of work and design documents to fully understand the clients expectations and project requirements.

Oversees Job Transition and Start-Up Process: Oversees job transition, administrative and operations start-up meetings as defined in the Job Management Process (JMP). Oversees the development of the project staffing plan. Ensures client expectations are understood and met by the project team. Ensures that project team skills sets meet the project needs and team members forge cohesive relationships, amongst internal team and the client. Ensures the proper delegation of project roles and responsibilities to the project team. Oversees the project team in:

The development of financial and production budgets for each project which facilitates cost tracking and accounting.

Obtaining approval for the schedule of values which optimizes cash flow on the project.

Defining SQP goals.The development of a detailed/critical path project schedule to support the construction process.

The development of detailed procurement plans relating to equipment and material.

The selection of major vendors and subcontractors.

The development of site plan including location of cranes, laydown areas, etc.

Accountable for Cost and Schedule: Approves and monitors budget activity throughout the course of a project(s). Accountable for reporting weekly dashboards, monthly financial reports and forecasts, etc. to operations leadership. Obtains approval of the project schedule and ensures schedule changes aredocumented with the client. Reviews the following information related to assigned projects:

Target and feedback

Change order logs, concrete logs, rebar logs, and other material/equipment logs

Project cost reports, job cost summaries and other reports for accuracy

Accountable for Project Cash Flow: Accountable for project cash flow and change order management; escalates unresolved issues to BURG leadership as needed. Understands the business implications of project performance, and collaborates with the operations leadership to achieve BURG objectives.

Fosters Client Relationship: Addresses problems that may impact client satisfaction. Participates in industry associations to advance industry practices and develop prospective client relationships. Participates in community service projects and non-profit organizations.

Oversees Generation and Submittal of Technical Records: May direct or perform audits, management reviews or other activities to ensure construction and documentation is in compliance with quality and other technical requirements of the contract. Ensures proper documentation to comply with all government agency requirements.

Participates in the Development of BURG and Project Plans, and Acheive Results: Participates in annual business plan development and related improvement initiatives. Drives project improvement and holds project teams accountable for achieving SQP goals. Contributes to the development and implementation of Company-wide initiatives such as SQP, LEAN, etc. Intervenes and takes ownership of projects not meeting SQP objectives. Fosters relationships with subcontractors and resolves issues.

Accountable for Project and BURG Safety and for Risk Management Processes: Collaborates with BURG leadership to resolve the impact of client and subcontractor contract changes, disputes and claims. Follows Company Hiring and Recruitment Guidelines. Accountable for compliance (Company and subcontractors) with prevailing wage requirements, Project Labor Agreements, workforce utilization, MBE/SBE participation, etc. Assumes responsibility for implementation of proper procedures related to work site accidents. Collaborates with the Safety and Risk Management departments to support co-workers and the project management team after a job site incident or injury.

Directs and/or Oversees Staff: Supervises, trains, evaluates, and develops direct reports to ensure maximum return on investment. Ensures support managers within area of responsibility also supervise, train, evaluate and develop their direct reports. Addresses complaints appropriately. Takes appropriate action to develop direct reports including, but not limited to, preparing and monitoring career development plans, promotions, demotions, lateral moves, corrective action, and progressive discipline. Ensures support managers also take appropriate action with their staffs. Conducts department staff meetings and participates in developing initiatives, goals, objectives, systems, policies, and procedures. Ensures that staff receive timely and appropriate compensation. Collaborates with HR to ensure compliance with employment laws, labor laws, and related Company policies; may be responsible for conducting training or coordinating workshops related to such compliance. Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize individual and overall department performance. Ensures support managers within area of responsibility also provide guidance, direction, etc. to their direct reports:

Responsible for holding timely performance appraisals and progress reviews.

Assists direct reports and staff in developing short and long-term goals that align with department and Company mission and strategy.

Ensures direct reports and staff receive appropriate training that aligns with career development plans. Training may be remedial, maintenance, or geared to promotion.

What You Need for this Position

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 12 years of construction experience, or 16 years of construction related experience.

8 years of experience as a Project Manager.

Proficient computer skills in programs such as Microsoft Office suite such as Word and Excel, understanding of construction software and the ability to understand, customize and modify spreadsheets

Mathematical Skills including but not limited to knowledge of mathematical concepts such as cost benefit analysis, cost accounting, etc.

Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills

Effective time management and Reasoning Ability

Willing to travel

Requires ability to maneuver in and out of job site trailers and various stages of job site terrains

Must have the ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 20 pounds
