We currently have an immediate need for the following: SOFTWARE QA TESTER
The QA Tester is responsible for developing comprehensive test cases and test plans, and tacking issues to ensure that software releases do not contain defects. The tester also schedules software deployments to minimize impact.
Coordinates and schedules releases to QA, UAT, and Production sites.
Deploys and tests software updates in the QA site.
Documents comprehensive, thorough test plans and test cases for new updates, plus regression testing.
Oversees internal and external testers for user acceptance testing. Evaluates issues that users encounter during user acceptance testing to determine impact.
Communicates directly with internal clients about release status and schedules releases with internal clients.
Performs validation testing for software updates in the UAT and Productions sites.
Analyze, triage, and document all issues discovered during testing. Verify and close issues resolved during the release cycle.
Track and reports on software defects, enhancement requests, and release statuses.
Develops, publishes, and implements test plans. Writes and maintains test automation.
Develops quality assurance standards.
Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
Requires a bachelor's degree and 4-7 years of experience coding in C, C++, Java.
Must have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
Familiar with NT, UNIX and/or Solaris environments.
Generally supports commodity or generic/unspecified skills, such as R&D Domain and Sharepoint Testing.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Have experience and knowledge of the software life cycle and testing practices
Demonstrate hands on experience writing test cases and test scripts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Detail oriented with strong analysis, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively, independently, and with others in a collaborative, deadline-sensitive environment.
Direct, hands-on experience with system software and system management tools.
Ability to adapt to various project types, documentation types, and shifting priorities. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Self-motivated to learn new processes independently.
Ability to develop test strategies and documentation accordingly
Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to move easily between various tasks.
