Transportation Automation Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as a part of an integrated team of engineers and automation experts helping to expand the firm’s transportation sector automation practice. Consult with clients on the integration of automated systems into transportation systems, including analyzing the development of technologies and systems, studying use cases and assessing requirements, assessing technical standards and regulations, and assessing and piloting data exchanges and the integration of emerging technologies, such as automated driving systems and unmanned aerial systems. Analyze system concepts and apply the systems engineering life cycle to translating automation and transportation objectives and technology and environmental conditions into engineering outcomes and solutions. Apply knowledge of automated vehicle use cases, enabling technologies, and the industry ecosystem and regulations to identify challenges and solutions in collaboration with public and private sector entities. Advise on integrated, dynamic automation solutions to deliver safety, operational, and organizational benefits. Provide work leadership to junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with automation and emerging transportation technologies, including systems engineering, standards, data management, strategy and program development, architecture designs, and impact assessments

-Experience in the transportation field

-Experience with evaluating automation technologies, use cases, data management, and transportation operations

-Experience with the client’s systems, policies, and regulations pertaining to automation

-Ability to analyze and suggest recommended improvements to transportation technologies and systems to meet industry standards and best practices

-Ability to create documentation regarding automation and supporting activities, including systems engineering, policy development, standards, planning, or operations

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent research and analytical skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree in an Engineering field preferred; MA or MS degree in an Engineering field a plus
