CACI International Senior Naval Engineer and Project Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia
CACI is seeking an experienced engineer with strong leadership, communication and technical skills in one or more naval architecture/marine engineering disciplines who can lead project teams, support stakeholders by offering guidance with complex technical issues and provide guidance to less advanced naval architects and engineers.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Lead complex naval architecture/marine engineering work performed by teams of 10-30 engineers for specific projects, ranging from concept studies to preliminary, contract and detailed design, and through ship production and delivery
Interface directly with clients to provide technical solutions and recommendations and ensure complete customer satisfaction
Review and approve deliverables produced by less experienced engineers
Interface with suppliers, vendors/contractors and cross functional teams to ensure necessary resources are available for ships and systems
Research new technology and development tools to remain informed of current technology with respect to ship design and systems
Draft or provide input to various briefs and reports
Attend technical meetings with the customer
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture
15 years or more of experience in US Navy ship and ship design
10 years of experience in leading technically complex systems engineering and integration projects including leading a team of technical individuals
Strong organization and time management skills
Good interpersonal skills to work with project teams and stakeholders
Must be a US citizen and have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Skills in Microsoft Office
Good written and verbal (English) communication skills
Familiar with US Navy and Regulatory Body Design Standards and Criteria
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
High proficiency with MS Access
Navy surface combatant design experience
Experience in the Navy or Maritime environment
Great interpersonal relationship and customer service skills
Project Management Professional or DAU Program Manager Certification
Experience with American Bureau of Shipping Rules
Experience with Military Sealift Command Ships
Knowledge of SEA 05D programs
Familiar with 3-D Product Model Software used during detailed construction
