Censeo Consulting Group Senior Business and Data IT Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

We are currently seeking a Senior Data & Business Analyst who will be responsible for focusing on developing interactive visualizations to communicate insights from large datasets in a fast-paced work environment. You play an important role on your project team by performing critical analysis, contributing recommendations, and presenting documentation to Censeo leadership and senior clients. These reports translate into visualizations being featured on intranet sites and visible to the entire agency and should meet the highest professional standards for look & feel, functionality and intuitiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BS or MS preferred with strong academic background.

  • Minimum 5 years as Business or Data Analyst developing and communicating interactive visualizations in data-rich information technology environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop professional business communications i.e. client presentations, crafting memos, creating and editing slide decks

  • Previous experience supporting government or military clients preferred.

  • Supporting all aspects of client engagements from scope definition to delivery.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying Agile methodologies and principles.

  • Experience applying analytic techniques in the evaluation of project objectives and contributing to the implementation of strategic direction.

  • Must have advanced technical skills:

  • Strong front-end web development ? HTML, CSS, Java, and working knowledge of SQL

  • Python, R, JavaScript, TypeScript

  • Coding-based interactive visualization languages / tools ? ChartJS, HiCharts, Leaflet, etc.

  • Effectively communicate to meet demanding deadlines in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and conduct business analyses and studies, needs assessments, requirements analysis/definition and cost/benefit analyses to align business systems, solutions and initiatives.

  • Prepare forecasts and analyze trends, reports, spreadsheets, reporting regulations and business conditions.

  • Develop and analyze metrics, performance measurements, requirements, reports and recommendations related to management, organizational structure, policy/procedures and business systems.

  • Identify potential business risks. Areas of focus include but are not limited to business performance, business and economic case analysis, internal control and enterprise risk assessment. Analysis performed will support projects in Supplier Management, Strategic Sourcing, Total Cost Management, and Demand Management Strategies.

  • Support analyst functions including data collection, interviewing, data cleansing, data modeling, project testing, and creation of performance measurements to support project objectives.

  • Establish policies, processes, standards, tools, and templates to address ingesting, storing, using, accessing, retaining, reporting, and visualizing data.

  • Support the development of requirements and methodologies for exploiting a program-wide analytics platform.

  • Capable of working with incomplete or imperfect data to analyze and translate spend, market intelligence, and contract data, analyze specific program effectiveness or improvement opportunities, tracking trends and measuring compliance.

  • Provide expertise in the delivery and operation of Tableau or Qlik and evolving dashboards and analytic platforms to include application of aesthetic design principles and end-user experience optimization.

  • Identify opportunities and enable synthesis and extension of the analytics to integrate Subject Matter Expert data and maintain and actively manage ingest of additional data sources that are employed by the PSO and category managers.

  • Recommend training or policies to improve the quality of data entry and collection efforts.

  • Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials such as legal documents, authoritative reports, official publications of major scope and impact, etc., and/or to make formal presentations

Mathematics

  • Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes

  • Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data and/or to develop forecasts and computer models

Essential Physical Functions

  • Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time

  • Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another

Position Particulars

  • Expected travel 0-10%; may increase based on business needs

  • This is an exempt, full-time position
