This position will be based in the Washington D.C. area and candidates will need to have a Top Secret Security Clearance to work with the Federal government.

Seeking Senior Pre-Sales Solution Engineers that have a passion for cloud concepts, and system integration, and cloud migrations that can support customer facing engagements along with a number of internal Oracle sales efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is tired of working on the same project or with the exact same technology for months or years without the possibility of future growth. Those who excel in this role are motivated self-starters who love to solve challenging problems, feel comfortable working directly with customers and have an insatiable curiosity about what “is possible” with cloud technology. The primary focus of a Solutions Engineer is to become an expert in a core set of Oracle products and solutions and to present the value proposition and benefits of our solutions to our partners, prospects and customers, and internally to our sales force.

As a Senior Pre-Sales Solution Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding, identifying, and documenting client requirements, conduct business and technical studies, design, develop, integrate and implement information systems business solutions, and provide advice on information systems strategy, policy, management, security and service delivery.

  • Providing pre-sales technical and functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Acts as a technical resource, mentor and leader for less experienced Solution Engineers.

  • Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations.

  • Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions.

  • Design, validate, and present Oracle cloud, software and hardware solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products.

  • Support sales team in online and in-person selling efforts with minimal supervision.

Additional Desired Skillsets

  • Knowledge of and experience with any of public cloud providers including Oracle, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure or Google (GCP) architecture, tools and cloud methodologies

  • Solution Architect and/or Developer Certification on AWS (preferred) or Azure or Google Cloud or Oracle Cloud

  • Experience in IaaS, DevOps and Micro-services design and development, with a minimum of two projects executed in these domains

  • Be familiar with VMWare, KVM, AWS, Azure, Softlayer and Open Stack

  • Cloud computing

  • Applications development on Java/.NET, Python, Go, open source development tools

  • Relational databases, NoSQL databases, MapReduce, analytics

  • DevOps exposure and knowledge of one or more tools such as Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible

  • Micro-services design principles and coding experience

  • Understanding or experience in container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos etc.

  • Experience with government accreditations for Cloud such as FedRAMP, Impact Level, and ICD 503

Ability to travel as needed; approximately 25% of the time.

BS degree or equivalent.

Any Cloud Certifications are highly desirable.

5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools experience.

Oracle product experience highly desirable.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment.

May have project lead role.

Demonstrated proficiency in multi-user operating system through knowledge of system and application design.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The primary focus of a Senior Sales Consultant (Pre-sales) is to become an expert in a core set of Oracle products and solutions and to present the value proposition and benefits of our solutions to our partners, prospects and customers and internally to our sales force

As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision, through on-line/in person sales efforts. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Internet Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships. Support sales team in online/in-person selling efforts with minimal supervision. Develop and deliver proposed solution to customers. Approximate percentage of face to face interaction with customers to perform responsibilities is 50%.

Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
