Head of Political, DSP Sales & Account Management

The Head of Political Ad Sales role is a player/coach role. This person is responsible for creating and executing AppNexus’ political GTM strategy while also leading a team of account directors. We are looking for someone passionate about solving complex problems and eager to make a direct impact on both the short and long-term success of Xandr's political advertising business.

About the team:

The DSP Political Account Management team supports a portfolio of political agencies and trading desks of varying size. This team is experiencing substantial growth and is hiring to meet the opportunity. The team drives client success and helps bring AppNexus’ digital advertising products to market while partnering closely with our Services, Product, and Marketing organizations. Our focus is building our clients’ businesses through leading-edge technology solutions and strategic business consulting.

About the job:

•Combine knowledge of AppNexus/Xandr offerings and the political advertising ecosystem to create a market leading programmatic strategy and GTM team

•Grow and manage a best-in-class sales team

•Develop and communicate a political advertising GTM strategy across cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders

•Oversee the delivery of client business reviews and leverage these to identify and activate new opportunities

•Manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders in account vision and business delivery

•Become the senior escalation point for your team’s accounts and diffuse challenging situations


About your skills:

•Ability to excel in a client-facing, consultative role developing complex accounts

•Comfort in building and managing relationships at the senior level (ie C-level contacts)

•Capable of gaining a deep understanding of technology enabled advertising and using this to drive business outcomes

•Ability to effectively communicate, present to and influence clients, stakeholders and cross-functional leaders

•Proven record of recruiting and growing a sales team

•BA/BS degree required, MBA a plus

•2+ years of experience in people management

•8+ years of post-college work experience; work in Finance, Consulting, Enterprise Technology, or an Agency Holding Company a plus
