Microsoft Corporation US Dept of Justice SSP – Solutions Sales Specialist in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

The US Department of Justice Account Team within Microsoft Federal, US Regulated Industries has an immediate opening for a Solutions Specialist (SSP) to support the US Department of Justice Account Team. This position is based in the DC/VA/MD area reporting to the Director of the Microsoft Justice ATU. The SSP is responsible for understanding/influencing customer-specific technology requirements and driving the adoption of the Microsoft Cloud Platform and solutions across strategic, business, and mission areas in a sell to model. The SSP will work closely with the Justice Account Team in developing strategy and play a key role in leading and growing our cloud business. In addition, the SSP must be able to collaborate and execute successful “business/technical outcomes” across a wide variety of support and services teams within Microsoft.


  • Broad knowledge of the Microsoft Enterprise/Cloud Platform and ability to map relevant Microsoft Technologies to customer IT and Mission Needs.

  • Current understanding of the government cloud marketplace, Microsoft cloud offerings and proficiency driving adoption and consumption of cloud solutions.

  • Ability to build long-term “Trusted” Customer Relationships that result in solid and meaningful Strategic Technology conversations.

The SSP will drive new cloud engagements across a diverse set of customers to grow consumption and increase adoption of new cloud services.


Federal Sector experience engaging with senior executives, business managers, technical decision makers, finance and contracts personnel within enterprise customers and in Microsoft technology is required. The candidate must have an excellent understanding of the competitive landscape within this industry vertical. Technical background in Microsoft cloud technologies and strong expertise interfacing with the key lines of business to match solutions with business needs is desired.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills are required. Candidate must possess demonstrated decision making, problem solving, and negotiating skills. Candidate must have a passion for engaging and orchestrating resources on the team and for working across boundaries between groups (services, specialists, partners, etc). Candidate should have strong organization and collaboration skills and a passion for developing world class best practices within the virtual team. Candidate must be a strategic thinker and have proven excellence in technical planning and delivering modern solutions that drive consumption and transformation to the cloud.

A BA or BS degree in computer science, engineering, business, marketing, or related field, with 8 years+ experience in driving technical solutions for software and services in the Public Sector market segment or an equivalent is expected.

A current security clearance is desired and may be required for certain accounts within the customer base. Due to the nature of the U.S. Federal Business, U.S. citizenship is required. This position will report to the Director, of the US DOJ team.
