Sirius Computer Solutions Managing Consultant - Security in Washington DC, District Of Columbia

Position Summary:

The primarily responsibility for this role is managing the proposal process for the Security solutions business, as well as overseeing the execution, delivery and quality assurance process for deliverables. Responsible for collaborating with technical sales staff and overseeing qualified workforce and virtual teams consisting of highly-skilled technical staff.

Projects often include assessing and architecting the selection of security controls to meet our customers' legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance. Other projects include assisting clients with security initiatives such as, SIEM, GRC, DLP, Integrated Threat Management, etc. Resource routinely performs executive-level program management activities for high-value security projects, with the goal of managing client expectations while seeking to expand the scope of services and products offered.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Regularly serves in the lead consultant role on a project team to provide guidance to other team members. Serve as the executive program manager with responsibility for managing client expectations for specific security projects, while seeking and fostering additional opportunities with the specific clients. As part of this role, is responsible for managing the quality assurance process to deliver quality on-time deliverables.

  • Consistently achieves outstanding Customer Satisfaction results on all consulting engagements by following project manager and technical lead consultant direction.

IP Development

  • Contributes and develops best practices, strategies, methodologies and documentation/templates. Occasionally presents externally as a thought leader at a regional level.

Staff Oversight:

  • Directly supervises project staff with responsibility for ensuring engagement success and appropriate use of practice tools, methodology, deliverable preparation, and client presentation.

Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications -

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a technology field

  • At least ten (10) years IT Security focused work experience

  • CISSP certification

Other Position Requirements -

  • Experience with all of the following (experience in each area can be concurrent):

  • Four (4) years of client facing IT security consulting experience within Fortune 1000 customer environments

  • Four (4) years of supervisory experience managing teams in excess of three people

  • Experience with security program policies, practices and procedures

  • Direct consulting experience involving the security and/or compliance of designated practice solutions at an enterprise level including but not limited to one or more of the following: SIEM, DLP, GRC, Integrated Threat Management, Perimeter, Mobility, and Access Control.

  • Direct involvement in working with internal and external teams to consult, implement, and troubleshoot security product and services,

  • At least three (3) years of demonstrated presales experience: gathering client requirements, proposing technology solutions, writing Statements of Work or contracts, and winning technology services business

  • Demonstrated ability to manage highly technical staff

  • Demonstrated ability to assess and architect complex security solutions in the designated practice using procedures, scripts, and templates

  • Demonstrated ability to build new methodologies, technologies, tools, and approaches to deliver quality security deliverables to diverse clients

  • Demonstrated top tier consulting expertise (gather requirements, problem solve and recommend) in mid-sized and Fortune 1000 customer environments

  • Demonstrated ability to generate significant follow-on service business due to service excellence and very high Customer Satisfaction levels

  • Demonstrated contracts and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven time management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated selling and client presentation skills

  • Ability to assess multi-vendor IT environments, make recommendations, develop multi-year project roadmaps, conduct financial analysis and lead teams to implement solutions

  • Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and a leader in a consulting environment

  • Resourceful working with disparate client and internal departments to deliver meaningful solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of Big 4 consulting or similar experience

  • Experience consulting on, implementing, and troubleshooting perimeter, data protection, compliance and/or eDiscovery solutions.

  • CISM, CHS, or equivalent certification

  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certification

  • Program/Project Management Professional (PgMP/PMP) or equivalent certification

Essential Functions

The position exists to provide technical consulting solutions to customers a nd as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.
