What You Will Do

Our Washington, DC office is currently looking for a BIM Asset Management - Office Engineer. Come join our team today!

The Asset Information/ Certifiable Items List (CIL) Coordinator is a cross functional role responsible for the overall integration support and coordination between the General Contractor and WMATA offices for the Northern/Bladensburg Bus Garage replacement. The project data and information models are for use in operations, maintenance management programs and CIL completion. This role will be responsible for oversight of the contractual required BIM and Asset standards and Certifiable Items List (CIL).

The Asset Information Manager is responsible for overseeing the general contractor’s program that ensures that an accurate inventory, tagging of all assets is maintained and that a digital representation of all assets is compiled, across the WMATA Northern/Bladensburg bus garages. BIM, COBie, IBM Maximo and other tools will be used to provide asset information by location, discipline, and other type of custom reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of construction field operations, project management, project engineering, project scheduling and/or preconstruction experience or a minimum of 2 years in a Virtual Design and Construction role.

  • Must possess a practical understanding of building information modeling (BIM) and how it is applied in design, construction coordination, and the construction turnover process.

  • Experience with extracting and organizing asset information from submittals and other types of construction documents into a Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) format

  • Experience with CMMS/CAFM/IWMS software like IBM Maximo.

  • Experience with some of all the following construction related document and work flow management software: Procore, BIM360.

  • Understanding of general construction techniques and systems.

  • Able to read and understand contract documents and drawings.

  • Understanding of construction documentation procedures and work flow is a plus.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong PC skills, Microsoft Office applications.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management.

  • Excellent organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Software competencies in any of the following is preferred but not required: AutoCad, Revit, Navisworks, Bentley, or Solibri. CAD or BIM experience a plus.

  • Experience working with database applications is a plus, further knowledge of programming languages (C , VBA, LISP, MATLAB, Python) is also a plus but not required.
