What You Will Do
As an associate with St. John Health-MI, you will have the opportunity to collectand process blood specimens for testing.
Draw and collect blood samples. Verify records.
Label, process and deliver specimens for testing.
Maintain supplies and equipment.
May assist with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.
Answer telephone calls, perform computer print reports and provide test results, as applicable.
Collect, verify , and process patient registration data and test order/entry into hospital information system/laboratory information system.
Obtain proper patient identification based on credentials presented, and communicates exceptions.
Performall other duties and projects as assigned.
What You Will Need
Certified as a Phlebotomy Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOR) preferred.
HS or Equivalent
High school diploma or equivalent required Diploma/certificate from an accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program preferred
- Keyboarding and data entry experience preferred. Six months previous job related experience preferred. Pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred.
