  • In order to be considered for a TA title, candidates must be permanent in the Transit Management Analyst Trainee or Staff Analyst Trainee title.

Responsibilities

Under supervision, the trainee will assist in professional and technical work to support the planning, design, construction management and/or administration of major capital projects in the multi-billion dollar NYC Transit capital program. This position supports collection and analysis of data and preparation of reports. Responsibilities may include assisting in management of the CADD/BIM design process.

Education and Experience

Transit Management Analyst Trainee

A master's degree from an accredited college in accounting, architecture, business administration, computer science, economics, engineering, engineering technology, finance, industrial psychology, mathematics, physics, public administration, public policy, transportation planning, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area; or

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 credits in one of the areas listed in "1" above.

Staff Analyst Trainee I

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.

Staff Analyst Trainee II

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one (1) year as a Staff Analyst Trainee I.

Desired Skills

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering or architecture for some positions. Knowledge of MS Office Suite and software applications related to capital construction management. Knowledge of CADD/BIM a plus. Strong problem solving skills and analytical ability. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Selection Method

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview.

Appointment may be at a comparable level to current level of selected candidate (if necessary).
