Job Title: Trade Compliance Coordinator

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI

Job Overview:

This position is responsible to support the corporate trade compliance team with critical day to day processes and activities, including administrative support and basic analytical work. The corporate trade compliance team is responsible for global policies, processes, systems and reporting related to trade compliance and works with all business and other corporate departments. The Trade Compliance Coordinator will report directly to the global trade compliance manager.

This employee will work with internal contacts including purchasing, engineering and customer service to ensure accurate data and records are maintained, and also communicate with external contacts including brokers, forwarders, vendors and customers. This person will support daily activities related to the import and export activities of Actuant’s companies through the use of software systems, Microsoft products and documentation.

Trade Compliance Coordinator

The Trade Compliance Coordinator has the following principal accountabilities:

  • Audit import and export documents, while staying current on international compliance regulations

  • Coordinates responses to customs brokers for daily inquiries on entry information.

  • Reviews and manages embargoed/sanctioned countries and restricted party screening in Global Trade software

  • Organizes documents for response to Customs notices and other government inquiries

  • Identifies and requests entry amendments and post entry corrections and tracks for broker compliance

  • Support the implementation of system automation for trade compliance related processes

  • Facilitates supplier solicitations for country of origin, free trade agreements, conflict minerals and other compliance related initiatives

  • Assists with the coordination of data for duty drawback and refund claims

  • Reviews trade lanes and data to assist with supply chain analysis

  • Assists with verification and documentation for NAFTA qualification

  • Organizes and maintains international related documents for recordkeeping

  • Identifies products for classification and coordinates with internal product experts and external vendor to classify products according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule. Assists with maintaining product classification database in ERP and other systems

  • Supports daily import/export trade compliance activities of Actuant’s business units

  • Administrative support related to broker SOP’s and Trade Compliance Manuals

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates’ Degree in International/Global Business, Supply Chain, or similar field

  • 0-3 years of experience in trade compliance and/or international logistics

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of ERP Business Systems, Global Trade Compliance software and Transportation Management Systems

  • Intermediate knowledge in Word, Excel, Access, Adobe and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills (verbal & written); with the ability to solve complex challenges.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Accountable and takes ownership with an ability to perform with little guidance.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and global work environment.
