The Manager Reinsurance will report to the Director Reinsurance Services and will partner with the Director to create and execute reinsurance strategies that are value added to Safe-Guard, our Customers and Partners. The Manager of Reinsurance will manage a portfolio of clients serving as their Safe-Guard reinsurance partner.
This is a ground floor opportunity that will give the successful individual the opportunity to play a critical role in the growth of reinsurance services within the organization.
Develop and execute a reinsurance growth strategy through enhanced marketing and promotion of our core reinsurance capabilities.
Be able to present Safe-Guard’s reinsurance value proposition to current and prospective customers to secure our place as the reinsurance vendor of choice with our client partners.
Establish strong relationships with our highest volume dealer reinsurance principals and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Lead team of reinsurance accountants to deliver timely and accurate monthly cession statements to our reinsured dealer clients.
Streamline reinsurance accounting operations mainly through the efficient use of our newly implemented reinsurance system.
Ensure proper transfer of funds for each of the reinsured dealer clients.
Working with the actuarial team, advise our reinsured dealer clients on current and forecasted performance of their book of business.
Engage in Compliance management and interface with relevant external partners on compliance matters for assigned portfolios
Collaboratively work with internal parties such as IT, Accounting/Finance, Risk, Client Relations, and Executive Management to ensure seamless delivery of overall reinsurance program.
Drive thought leadership within the department and reinsurance Industry
Qualifications and Critical Success Factors:

Analytically proficient and detail-oriented
Effective communicator at multiple organizational levels and with external clients
Adept at developing strategic direction and designing implementation plans to ensure goals are realized
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and create an engaged workforce
Highly organized and detail oriented. Can effectively track and monitor progress of ad hoc requests within required timeframes
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
10+ years of experience working within reinsurance. Auto warranty dealer reinsurance experience is a significant plus, but not required.
CPA preferred, but not required
