API Heat Transfer Production Supervisor in United States

Position Purpose:

Supervise the Small Coolers department manufacturing operations to insure customer service, shipping, quality, safety, and cost objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

  1. Direct supervision of production control and inventory management functions within the Small Coolers department to meet/exceed the sales objectives. Assists in the development of, and manages, the Small Coolers department to meet goals for inventory management.

  2. Direct supervision of hourly employees to meet/exceed established goals for customer on-time delivery, quality, and labor costs.

  3. Achieve departmental and total manufacturing objectives for recordable accidents and safety.

  4. Trains employees, evaluates and documents performance.

  5. Ensures quality standards are met within the department and takes corrective action as required.

  6. Additional responsibilities

    a. Operate department within budget, unless expenses generating an unfavorable variance are authorized by the Director of Operations.

    b. Support lean manufacturing.

    c. Maintain housekeeping standards.

    d. Support cost reduction targets within the department.

    e. Enforces shop rules and supervises department within the confines of the contract.

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma required.

  2. 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  3. Experience with Demand Flow Technologies and/or Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices.

  4. Previous experience in make to order “Engineered” products manufacturing.

  5. Working knowledge of accounting and “Cost of Goods Sold” management and control.

  6. Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.

  7. Previous heat exchanger manufacturing preferred.

  8. Experience within a union environment.

  9. Blue print reading.

  10. ASME code requirements.

  11. Working knowledge of metals.
