API Heat Transfer Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift in United States

Position Purpose:

Supervise and direct the daily operations in the various departments covering assembly/painting, brazing, degreasing, maintenance, parts, sheet metal, shipping/receiving, stacking, testing, and welding. Work performed is relative to production schedules, efficiency, productivity, safety, work schedules and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of production employees to meet/exceed established goals for customer on-time delivery, employee safety, quality, cost reduction and labor standards.

  • Execute the production schedule within assigned departments / resources to achieve the sales objectives.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts for both process and product quality.

  • Supervise compliance to all safety policies and procedures. Achieve departmental and total manufacturing objectives for recordable accidents and safety.

  • Additional responsibilities:

  • Operate within budget.

  • Measure the daily / weekly / monthly performance of assigned production areas.

  • Review, communicate and drive improvement in labor efficiency.

  • Trains, evaluates and documents employee performance.

  • Provide support for manufacturing engineering objectives.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

  • Remove operational waste from the manufacturing process through coaching, mentoring, and leading continuous improvement efforts.

  • Time and attendance approvals within payroll/ERP system(s).

  • Employee accountability through performance standards, coaching, guiding, counseling and positive reinforcement.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Minimum 4 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience in assembly, welding, and with machining and machine tools preferred.

  • Previous exposure to Lean Manufacturing preferred.

  • Previous heat exchanger manufacturing is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of metals required.

  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints required.

Job Success Factors:

  • Production schedules are completed at 95% or higher for On-time Delivery.

  • Direct labor efficiencies are held at 95% of standard.

  • Achieve and maintain a current backlog, while reducing direct labor cost.

  • Maintain safety standards, ergonomic improvement initiatives and the company sustains an acceptable DART and TRCR.

  • Quality performance is held to the ISO Standards.

  • Minimum of 5% Cost of Quality Reduction.
