OSF Healthcare Instructional Designer in United States

The Instructional Designer is assigned to one or more technology applications or work streams. Responsible for creation, maintenance, and on-going development of end user training and support materials, provision of training and support to credentialed trainers within all OSF entities. Build and maintenance of the assigned application training environments. Facilitates internal training plans and may develop and manage training programs based on prioritized staff development needs. Travel to OSF entities to ensure communication, coordination, and integration of application training adoption entities as needed; 25% travel should be expected. Provides general direction, oversight, and mentoring to Credentialed Trainers and IOL department CT Program Specialists.


Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or closely related field

3 years of work experience in healthcare setting.

Experience in developing adult education curriculum.

Knowledge of healthcare delivery and management, information technology, and healthcare legislation.

25% travel should be expected.

Understanding of management principles.

Ability to deliver effective, articulate presentations to others.

Ability to effectively train and educate others.

Excellent communication skills is essential.

Ability to adapt style and content of communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to assess situation, evaluate risks, and adjust strategy as well as make recommendations.

Ability to communicate with diverse groups and resolve conflicts appropriately.

Ability to display creativity and flexibility.

Ability to effectively use basic project management tools.

Ability to understand relationships within systems and integrate processes.

Ability to operate effectively at all levels of the organization including with customers, project teams and leaders.

Ability to travel at regularly scheduled intervals throughout the course of a year to ensure regular proctoring for all trainers within primary application.

Responsible for attaining certification in assigned primary application within 6-8 weeks of completing Epic application training.

Training environment development training is required as part of the Epic certification process.


Previous work experience in developing adult education curriculum within a healthcare setting.

Previous healthcare clinical experience.
