The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for an open-rank faulty member who will serve as the Graduate Program Director for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) at the UNC School of Dentistry.
Responsibilities include oversight of resident recruitment and selection for the 6 year MD integrated program; providing didactic instruction and clinical supervision for residents, externs, medical and dental students in dental school and hospital clinics and operating rooms; ensuring program compliance with the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA); and preparing for and maintaining CODA accreditation. Applicants will also participate in the Dental Faculty Practice and will provide call coverage at UNC Hospitals and the UNC School of Dentistry. A past record of scholarly activity is desirable and the pursuit of scholarly activity is expected. Numerous opportunities for collaboration exist within the dental school and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, leadership, patient care, service, and scholarship.
Education and Experience:
Five years post residency/fellowship completion. The candidate must have anesthesia training making them eligible for a NC general anesthesia permit.
