Job Title : Engineer II, SW -Instrument Cluster - Digital Cockpit - Verification & Validation
Define Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Methodologies for Digital Cockpits – including Standalone fully Digital Clusters as well as Integrated Systems (supporting Infotainment, ADAS, HUDs along with Cluster functionalities)
Define test strategies / methodologies for all levels of testing in the V-Model
Functional Validation of different functions of Digital Cockpit.
Reporting, Tracking, Retesting and Closure of Defects after bug fix
Identification of automation areas to improve efficiency & quality and proactively drives Automation script development, improvements & test script maintenance. Identification of test stubs usage , preparation and execution of use cases with test stubs
Develop , Execute and Maintain Functional/Sanity/Stability and Performance test scripts and test cases for digital cockpit:
Cluster specific features like telltale, driver info, warning, chimes , gauges (speedometer, tachometer, odometer), Vehicle settings, trip information, infotainment settings etcs
IVI specific feature like – Media(USB,BT) , Projections, WiFi, Navigation etcs
Interdomain communication features for Media, navigation, Phone,vehicle info etcs
Expertise in Verification and Validation on test bench and vehicle
Defines test methodologies in line with Functional Safety requirements / guidelines related to code coverage, branch coverage, error guessing, FMEA ,fault injection testing etc
Create and Review Functional Safety Test and Fault Injection Test Plan with stake holders
Functional Safety & Fault Injection Tests Verification and Validation on test bench and vehicle
Designs specific tests / methodologies to measure / verify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to start-up time and run time performance
Track system performance for memory ,CPU and timing (KPI) with quantifiable metrics
Ensure quality of delivery for customer releases. Quick and efficient execution of test cases.
Excellent debugging and analytical skills
System Requirement understanding and analysis ,Hardware/Software architecture understanding
Resolve technical issues related to test environment and setup with independently or with minimal guidance
Analysis of systems/service logs. Initial analysis of issues to raise proper defect definition in ELVIS or defect management system
Follows CMMI/ASPICE/ISO26262 guidelines for creating and maintaining test documentation/methodologies.
Test development with positive, negative and exploratory test scenarios
Test planning and report generation
Perform reviews, process definition and other activities to ensure high-quality results
Provide necessary support for measuring performance of test team by generating Monthly Metrics like Tickets Raised, Test Case Coverage, Test Cycle Completions, Test Execution
Triages defects arising during testing and works with software / systems teams and/or partners to identify solutions / fixes for the defects
Close cooperation with other team members, development team, leads and projects managers
Studies industry wide Testing Best Practices and evolving standards & implements the same to improve Testing effectiveness and Productivity
Ensure 100 % traceability between requirements and test cases
Preferred knowledge on hypervisor
Bachelors in Computer Engineering/science or Electrical / Electronics / Comm. Engineering (or equivalent)
Knowledge of Automotive Domain - cluster and infotainment
Knowledge on Network Management , CAN & Diagnostics , Vehicle Information/Settings
Hands on experience in cockpit feature testing
Knowledge of Software development/test life cycle/buglife cycle
Good knowledge of Hardware, software embedded system concepts and architecture.
Basic Automotive Hardware knowledge is required
Good knowledge and experience on Functional Safety concept and derive test methodologies and strategies on Functional safety feature testing FMEA, fault injection for cockpit programs.
4+ yrs of hands-on experience in Testing of Automotive Electronics and SW systems – esp. in the area of Instrument Clusters and Infotainment Systems
Proficiently analyze user requirements and develop test cases based on functional specifications.
Experience in creating test strategies and methodologies to comply with Functional Safety and System security requirements
Experience with Test management tools, Test Automation tools, Configuration Management tools (Perforce, DOORs etc.)
Test Automation and test script development , test stub creation ideas, execution and maintenance
Dedicated performer with the ability to advocate appropriately for product quality.
Relentless learner with a dedication to learn new technologies and test methods
Self-driven and Innovative to drive continuous improvements in Test process
Resourcefulness in triaging problems and coordinating with multiple teams for issue resolution
Strong written, verbal communication and inter personal relationship skills
Willingness to travel 10% of the time
Willingness to work in an office in Bangalore, India.
Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test.
