OSF Healthcare ED Technician PRN in United States
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager and according to department policies/nursing care standards, functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to provide appropriate basic care to patients based on the ages of the patients served in the Emergency Department or Urgent Care area (age newborn through adult). This includes taking vital signs, performing 12 lead EKGs and cardiac monitoring, phlebotomy, orthopedic splinting, bedside lab testing and assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection including assisting with pelvic exams, basic respiratory therapy, wound care, performing CPR and observing patients for physical/emotional changes. Records pertinent information in patient charts and communicates with other patient care team members to ensure continuity of care. Duties also include transporting patients on stretcher or by wheelchair to other departments, stocking supplies and housekeeping duties. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by assigned shift.
CNA or EMT-B licensure in the State of Illinois required.
Certifications in BLS CPR
