King's Seafood Company Director of Training and Development in United States

The Director of Training and Development will lead the training department on all aspects of training to include: hourly training, supervisor program, MIT, Senior Manager, AGM, GM, and Multi-unit. He/she will use the training team to build materials to support operations in ensuring our training standards are beign met, our people are being fed appropriately, and our techniques are always evolving. They will support the VP’s in training programs by being the standards barrier of the "What Why How". The key to their success will be driving self-accountability and conscious leadership every day and being able to question openly if anything is not to standard. They will work through others to support the training objectives of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Be the keeper of the content/context of training.

• Establish best practice for our 101’s and build out each concepts uniqueness

• Coach and lead the Regional Service Managers (RSM) and Regional Culinary Managers (RCM) to execute the training-operational goals.

o Training materials are updated and accurate

o Best practices are shared among all concepts

o Train the trainer classes are being executed and consistent to fill all par levels

o Validate new hires are getting the hospitality from the heart from day one

o Support roll outs

o Teach critical thinking, analytics, and troubleshooting of reporting (Yelp, Open Table, Guest feedback, Comps, etc.)

• Lead the Manager In Training (MIT) program (with support of a Training Coordinator) to validate the learning is top notch

o Schedules are in line with the training objective

o Classrooms are set up and executed to standard

o Feedback loop is open and candid for celebration or course correction

• Teach others best practices of teaching techniques.

o Conduct workshops for the RSM, RCM, Crew Trainers on adult learning o Implement Generational Training for all Managers.

o Create on going workshops on How to be a Great Coach

o Develop King’s University to build leadership skills for internal promotions (Example: GM to DO)

• Use our 7 guiding philosophies in their daily decision making with the ultimate goal of operating great restaurants to standard.

• Oversee the supervisor program (materials lead by RSM/RCM) to ensure the materials and foundation are set up and taught accurately.

• Oversee the Senior Manager program to ensure the materials and foundation are set up and taught accurately.

o Continuously enhance the program to ensure best practices.

o Instill ownership in GM’s to develop others

• Oversee the AGM program to ensure the materials and foundation are set up and taught accurately.

o Continuously enhance the program to ensure best practices.

o Instill ownership in AGM’s to develop sous.

• Hold people accountable for making the right choices when it comes to training and development; not wavering on standards.

• Participate in company strategic initiatives on training and development

• Research new and efficient training methods in a variety of technology fields and do a cost analysis of each

• Validation of restaurant training systems, including a comprehensive annual audit that locations must do to earn/maintain training restaurant status

• Lead/Back up the training on our various workshops – Finding GILBERT, Drug Free Workplace, ServSafe food safety, Round Robin Weeks

• Present to Executive team on quarterly basis

• Produce reports on training projects, results, and offer suggestions for future targets.

Essential Qualifications:

  6. Familiarity with a variety of hospitality concepts, practices, and procedures.

  9. Continuous learner

  10. College Degree or Equivalent Certificate in Training and Development field
