NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Clinical Assistant Professor in the NYU-Steinhardt National Teacher Residency Non­-Tenure Track (Multiple Positions) Teaching and Learning in United States

New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development invites applications for multiple non-tenure track clinical assistant professor positions in the Steinhardt Teacher Residency (STR) Program, to begin July 1, 2019. The appointed faculty members will be part of the Department of Teaching and Learning. POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are hiring for multiple positions, one or more to be located at NYU in New York City and one or two that may be located in or near a school district with which we are partnering, most likely in Palm Beach, Florida or Philadelphia, PA. For each of these positions, we seek candidates with background and expertise in at least one of the following areas: urban education, special education, or science education. Along with faculty responsibilities, successful applicants will serve as either Content Mentors or Residency Directors in the STR program.

RESPONSIBILITIES: ­Teach online modules in STR and other programs as assigned. Collaborate with department Faculty on assessment and evaluation of study programs. May serve as a Content Mentor for specific STR content areas or as a Residency Director providing liaison support between NYU Resident Interns and partner school district/charter networks. As Content Mentor or Residency Director, collaborate with department Faculty to develop and implement communication processes with partner school leadership and onsite program liaisons; provide ongoing teaching efficacy and professionalism feedback to NYU Resident Intern cohorts; provide professional development for Teaching Mentors within school settings; and collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement in­-person and online professional learning communities for Resident Interns, Teaching Mentors, and STR graduates during the Induction year. Assist in the facilitation of program orientations and other recruitment events.
