K1 is seeking CFO candidates for our growing Portfolio of industry leaders across North America. K1 is one of the most successful and fastest growing private equity firms. As the CFO you will lead the Portfolio Company's finance organization, develop and implement financial and operational plans to drive growth and extend finance based decision-making throughout the company. You will also be responsible for all finance activities including accounting, forecasting, budgeting, internal control, financial systems, audit, reporting, treasury, insurance and tax.

In addition, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the board of directors, the investor community, external auditors, insurance brokers and all other external parties that require financial information.

Expected Results

  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;

  • Management of organizational cash flow and cash flow forecasting;

  • Present financial results to the Board of Directors with narrative on results, variances to plan, trends and key metrics;

  • Oversight and leadership of annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO; administration and review of all financial plans and budgets; monitoring of progress and changes to keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status;

  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process;

  • Active participation in influencing company direction, growth, strategic planning, product development, acquisition integration and financial forecasting as a member of the senior management team;

  • Responsible for all financial and accounting functions including policy development and implementation and financial system development and management;

  • Development and management of internal financial controls;

  • Oversight and mentoring of the accounting and finance staff;

  • Work with CEO and senior management on all major transactions including capital raises, debt, major partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures;

  • Define standards, policies, procedures, measures and organizational enhancements to meet company goals for finance;

  • Oversee and optimize financial reporting to management and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and to inform decision making throughout the company;

  • Develop new and improve existing business processes to assess enterprise-wide financial effectiveness for greater transparency, more accurate reporting and better identification of cost saving opportunities;

  • Potentially manage IT, HR and General Counsel.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will be an operationally oriented strategic thinker who has worked for technology companies, ideally in the Enterprise Software space. The candidate should have experience with multinational tax and accounting practices, M&A transactions and traditional as well as SaaS accounting standards. The candidate should be a player/coach with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" style who is excited to grow a finance team within a rapidly growing company. As our ideal candidate, you will also have the following:

  • 10+ years of experience leading the finance function of an organization;

  • BS in Accounting or Finance (MBA and CPA preferred);

  • 7+ years of experience in a high growth software company;

  • Experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination;

  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus;

  • Strong leadership skills marked by a collaborative team orientation;

  • Ability to motivate team members at all levels to cultivate a dynamic and highly productive work environment.
