Boys & Girls Clubs of America Campaign Director in United States
Reporting to the VP of External Affairs, the Campaign Director will play an instrumental role in Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago’s fundraising efforts, by managing the campaign strategies and ensuring the campaign remains on schedule and achieves its financial goal. Campaign management will include strategy development, organizing, communicating and implementing key campaign events and initiatives. With support from the Campaign Committee, the Campaign Director will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, and maintenance and stewarding of campaign donors.
Ensure BGCC achieves $30 million campaign goal.
Oversee and manage BGCC’s comprehensive campaign, including supporting the CEO, VP of External Affairs, respective board and committee members and others.
Responsible for strategy development planning and implementation, organizing, planning and leading campaign initiatives, prospect pipeline development and tracking; marketing and communication strategy and collateral materials development; task assignment direction and coaching; timeline management; and evaluation and reporting through printed reports for the VP of External Affairs and CEO.
Maintain a portfolio of donors, with a focus on retention, increased giving and new donor cultivation
Assist VP of External Affairs in developing strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all major gift prospects and donors, and tracking these efforts using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge system.
Dedicate sufficient time for the identification and cultivation of new donors with the capacity for making leadership and major gifts investments transitioning these prospects to the portfolios of key staff and volunteer leaders as appropriate.
Manage acknowledgment process, gift agreements, pledge and naming documentation for donor prospects.
Write proposals, acknowledgements, updates, reports, collateral copy, etc., as required.
Draft major gift acknowledgement letters for portfolio of donors and others as needed.
Work with development team in setting revenue goals and meeting annual fundraising needs. Actively seek an manage donor engagement activities at BGCC Clubs and cultivation events to engage prospects and current donors, coordinating with appropriate senior staff and development team members
Assist teammates by attending and engaging prospects at fundraising events.
Assist in prioritizing key actions for the President & CEO, the Vice President of External Affairs, and board members in the engagement solicitation and stewardship of prospective donors.
Offer fundraising coaching and resources for key staff and lead volunteers as needed supporting their relationship building and fundraising efforts.

Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
Ten or more years’ experience in development and proven success in major gift fundraising, specifically in campaign fundraising and goal achievement.
Well disciplined, strong organizational skills and work ethic with the ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time and budget constraints.
Ability to craft clear, concise compelling messages through excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse audiences, including all levels of donors, volunteers and board members.
Ability to multi-task and adjust to rapidly changing priorities to address/resolve the most critical/sensitive issues on a timely basis.
Highly detail oriented.
Capacity to work collaboratively and proactively within a team environment, as well as independently.
Proven ability to identify areas of opportunity for existing practices/processes and execute appropriate improvements.
Proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Local travel to/from Club locations in a variety of Chicago inner-city neighborhoods.
Some evening and weekend availability required.
