Job Description

HealthFitness has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time, benefits eligible Business Development Specialist within our growing sales team! This Business Development Specialist position will be based out of a home office. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new corporate fitness and health management business sales to meet designated revenue targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sales Planning:

  • Develop and execute business plan that identifies strategies and tactics to achieve/exceed activity targets.

  • Build a strong pipeline to maximize opportunities and achieve revenue growth goals.

  • Identify and engage new prospects, simultaneously driving multiple opportunities.

  • Consistently document all sales activity in Salesforce and provide regular activity, sales forecast and prospect updates.

  • New Business Sales:

  • Initiate and drive the lead generation/qualification process.

  • Develop in-depth understanding of client/prospect goals, strategic objectives and existing program offerings and effectiveness.

  • Support proposal solution process with sales lead and internal partners that demonstrates value and differentiates HealthFitness from competitors.

  • Plays key supporting role in finalist presentations and subsequent follow-ups to bring sales to closure.

  • Company Leadership/Brand Ambassador:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with key prospects, brokers, consulting firms, and their major clients.

  • Promote the HealthFitness brand and value proposition by conducting broker/consultant outreach and product presentations, demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of products and services.

  • Serve as the voice of the marketplace, providing feedback to key internal departments on market needs and competitive data.

  • Represent HealthFitness at designated trade shows and industry conferences; maximizing new business opportunities including pre and post event communications.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Education, Experience & Certifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors’ degree and 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination education and experience.

  • Highly personable, confident and comfortable interacting with prospects when networking, cold calling and other lead generation activities.

  • A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple opportunities while demonstrating effective planning, prioritization and organizational skills.

  • Strong listening and comprehension skills, including the ability to identify underlying client needs and how our solutions can meet them.

  • Ability to quickly and objectively evaluate the viability of new opportunities to ensure efforts are properly aligned.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.

  • Excellent problem solving skills demonstrating persistence, adaptability and creativity.

  • Strong product proficiency; ability to articulate value and product differentiation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including overnight stays.

Preferred:

  • Prior networking and sales experience.

  • Experience working in fitness, wellness or related industry strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM a plus.
