Responsible for supporting multiple strategic and operational excellence activities within the Division of Accreditation and Certification Operations. The Project Manager, Business Transformation serves as an expert in established project management principles, and will utilize and adhere to these principles to lead initiatives that support the Division and Enterprise strategic imperatives and goals, and drive business results. The Project Manager, Business Transformation will be a facilitator of change; making project goals their own and using their skills and expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team. The Project Manager, Business Transformation serves as a liaison with key stakeholders on tasks, deliverables and issues regarding improvement initiatives and conducts presentations to senior leadership and other organizational entities on the progress and outcomes of improvement initiatives. The Project Manager, Business Transformation acts as a thought leader in quality and performance improvement planning and activities.
Leads major strategic and improvement initiatives to success.
Works directly with the Master Black Belt, Business Transformation to lead Project Refresh initiatives, including mapping of current processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, conducting data analysis and impact, identifying needs for additional resources and technical requirements, and leading team discussions including the impact on existing business processes.
Serves as liaison with key stakeholders on tasks, deliverables and issues regarding improvement initiatives. Facilitates transition of improvement initiatives to Process Owners for sustained gains. Creates and monitors dashboards related to improvement activities.
Provides project management guidance and expert advice within the division. Mentors and coaches individuals and teams regarding project planning and management, scoping, process mapping, data definitions, data analysis and data display.
Partners with multidisciplinary and cross-divisional teams to execute and drive performance improvement opportunities.
Establishes measurement and monitoring to ensure results for various ACO, RPI and green belt projects are sustained over time as part of regular business operations.
Establishes and communicates key data, metrics and presentations for reporting, leadership review and approval, and enterprise communications.
Maintains knowledge of current trends within the performance improvement community by participating in project management training, RPI Green Belt training, web conferences, and/or other available modes.
Assists with faculty requests for custom education and Speakers Bureau educational programs.
Other special projects or duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred; 7 or more years work experience in the health care industry; experience in the Joint Commission’s accreditation process preferred. Proven project management skills.
Green Belt/Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience leading performance improvement projects and facilitating multi-disciplinary teams within healthcare or service related environment utilizing proven project management methodologies
Strong operational, presentation, analytic, critical thinking, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Extensive computer skills in database, as well as the Joint Commissions’ accreditation software applications including Web-based Survey Technology, E-app., Central Office, portal, extranet, Microsoft suite applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab.
The ability to prioritize and handle multiple, extensive and diverse projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
Proven experience leading divisional projects from requirements gathering to implementation. This includes leading meetings, conducting customer webinars, and internal and external trainings and communications.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at various levels, including ability to lead individuals in completing tasks, regardless of reporting relationship.
Ability to travel, as required.
