IBM Client Technical Specialist - Storage in Hong Kong


Client Technical Specialists (CTP) are the technical experts and advisors to clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. As a CTP you understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. You apply your business insights, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate hardware, software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide Pre-sales, implementation & technical support on IBM Storage and Software Defined Infrastructure Solutions.

  • Design, configure, present and demonstrate customized proofs of concept on IBM SDS, SAN, NAS, Tape library and backup solutions.

  • Design, present and demonstrate customized IBM solutions.

  • Manage and plan installation activities.

  • Identify and resolve problems related to installation, configuration or performance.

  • Work closely with sales team and Business Partners in sales engagement.

  • Plan, conduct and manage benchmark test and proof of concept activities.

  • Identify and resolve problems related to installation, configuration or performance.

  • Conduct technical training and technical support to Business Partners and customers

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of work experience in IT industry.

  • Familiar with operating system platform such as Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Linux, SuSE Linux, AIX and/or Solaris

  • Familiar with various backup solutions including Veritas, Tivoli, and/or ARCServe preferable.

  • Knowledge in SDS, NAS, SAN, storage networking, and tape solutions.

  • Knowledge in virtualization technologies; VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM

  • Knowledge in database systems, web technologies, ERP solutions etc.

  • Knowledge in cloud and big data technologies

  • Possess drive, initiative, creativity and able to work under stringent time schedules.

  • Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese

  • Good communications, presentation and problem solving skills
