Major areas of responsibility:

The qualified candidate shall provide technical writing and editorial support that could include the below duties. Refer to the provided Performance Work Statement (Part 5, Specific Tasks) for responsibilities based on the customer specific division you are assigned to. The type of documents associated with the below duties are routine correspondence and publications and/or policy and procedural products and documents.

• Editing

• Writing

• Proofreading

• Researching

• Indexing

• Copywriting

• Fact-checking

• Document formatting

• Sub-titling

• Document mapping

• Administrative services to include archiving and library management services

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Active Secret Clearance

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred); 6 years for relevant work experience (same or similar services) will also be accepted in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree

• At least three years (five years preferred) of relevant experience in copy-editing and substantive editing and proofreading/reviewing a variety of documents for content, style, formatting, clarity, and consistency based on established Joint style guides

• Experience managing multiple tasks and experience with military copy-editing and Joint communication and writing formats/style

• Experience such as that gained at an O-4 to O-5 level in the United States military, or GS-11 to GS-13 civilian service, interfacing with very senior military and civilian officials

• At least one year of experience (two years preferred) supporting a military joint staff in the area of training
