Quad Graphics is currently seeking General Manufacturing/Finishing Coordinators at their Versailles, KY plant.
Coordinator Expectations (Duties)
Make sure people have proper PPE/Shirts tucked in. No drinks or food on the sample or work tables.
Validate count on skid with ticket. Box up by ship dates, unless otherwise instructed. Check finishing instructions for shrink wrap, 3 hole drill, CD's, inserts, stickers, etc. Verify shipping instructions, truck, small shipping, and drop ships. Use carton stated on the ticket, if the carton does not work, contact the CSR, or pick a box to fit books with no excessive filler, it is within the customer spec, and make sure the CSR knows so they can update the job ticket. Print labels as needed, partial labels, verify labels to ticket. Verify book to ticket. Verify what has been boxed Print load flag - verify load flag counts/ that it is bulk not loose Make sure product is on the right skid. Note: Boxes are not to over hang on the skid. Simon Master skids must be sent to shipping @2pm and 6am, unless the skids are full. Skids must be verified and checked off to the packing slip, and signed off on. Packing list along with the Simon job tickets that coincide must be bundled together and turned in at the end of the shift. Clean up area before shift change. Boxes in order, recyclables in the correct container. No garbage goes in the recycle containers. make sure next shift has jobs ready to run. Reversals done, product taken over to shortage row. Paperwork put on Manager's desk.
If job is not in the PC, fill out the red production center worksheet and turn in with the job tickets at the end of the shift If there is a shortage, fill out carton area shortage spreadsheet & yellow shortage form for finishing. Contact coordinator or supervisor so they can fill out the proper paperwork and take to shortage row. Responsible for updating the safety of the day. At shift change take a GIMBA walk and communicate what is going on in the area. Other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Prefer machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must have a record of working safely.
Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
Must be able to meet the ergonomic and physical requirements for the job to include lifting/tipping (up to 50 lbs.), standing, bending, and stooping on a regular basis; with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must follow/support all Company safety procedures and perform all work in a safe manner.
Must be able to work12-hour rotating shifts and days of week (7AM-7PM; 7PM-7AM).
Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed based on work volume.
Prefer experience in a manufacturing environment
