KYOCERA INDUSTRIAL Production Machine Operator in Vancouver, Washington

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the proper preparation, loading, inspection and running of parts in 1-3 production machines. Responsible for overall operation of manufacturing machinery including feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, inspecting and removing finished product. May also be involved in the setup, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Tasks deal with standardized situations involving a few concrete variables and may be performed by hand, by machine or both. Works from written instructions and instructions given by the supervisor or lead. Shift: Weekend 3rd shift (Graveyard) - work 36 hours, paid for 40. (Three 12-hour shifts) REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent No experience required Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure including common and decimal fractions Vision and depth perception suitable for use of inspection microscopes Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or clean-room apparel Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. depending on the specific function. May includes cassettes ranging from 18-50 lbs that must be lifted up to 50 times per day ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains the flow of production parts into the assigned machine or process. Unloads ceramic and/or other parts may inspect them to remove any defective parts. Basic computer operation for recording metrics ( weight, length, ID, OD, density or counts etc.). Monitors and documents the operation of the assigned machine including periodic watches every 2 hours; performs minor maintenance and reports major repairs needed, to equipment as required. Properly records information on production as instructed. Keeps work area clean, safe, and organized. Maintains safety and Quality Assurance standards by knowing and applying proper procedures for operating the machines within the department. Assists with company 5S program. Read hand held measuring instruments. Transport parts to and from machines without damage. Complies with applicable requirements of Kyocera International, Inc. policy, including ISO 9000, ISO 14001, ISO18001, ITAR and any other site specific regulations. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.
