The Boeing Company Mid-Level Insider Threat Specialist in Tukwila, Washington
The successful candidate will serve as one of the Boeing Strategic Intelligence (SI) Insider Threat investigators/analysts. The primary mission is to provide rapid-paced investigative support to Boeing's Enterprise Insider Threat Program through interpretation of large quantities of data provided by automated data analysis tools; investigation and analysis of resulting items of concern; accurate, detailed and consistent record keeping; and interaction with internal customers and external law enforcement authorities.
Basic concepts include
Analysis of data to develop a meaningful assessment of probable insider threat activity for further investigation.
Ability to operate quickly, consistently and accurately open, enter and maintain data, and close confidential investigation cases, check for consistency of investigation data in support of a defined set of criteria.
Investigative responsibilities include:
Gather preliminary investigative data (e.g., witnesses, electronic data, physical evidence) to assess the validity of the allegation and determine the allocation of further investigative resource.
Prepare a preliminary investigative plan to identify and employ needed resources (e.g., budget requirement, special equipment, computing security support).
Utilize standard investigative procedures to review and analyze reported information to determine if it is within the investigation scope of responsibility.
Execute the preliminary investigative plan by utilizing basic investigative techniques to gather data and employ subject matter experts to prove or disprove the allegation.
Maintain the historical database that serves as a repository of investigative work product (e.g., of suspect, witness, evidentiary data) as directed by Strategic Intelligence processes.
Create a concise report detailing the factual outcome of the investigation, as documented by Strategic Intelligence processes, through utilization of approved standardized formats.
Brief internal customers (e.g., Human Resources, first level management, Ethics) and external authorities (e.g. local/state/federal law enforcement) on relevant findings on a need-to-know basis determined by the sensitivity of the investigation or as mandated/authorized by the Boeing Law Department.
Advise concerned parties of report findings (e.g., Legal, Ethics, Employee Corrective Action Review Board [ECARB]) for follow-up action/adjudication/documentation or external authorities for legal prosecution.).
This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
3 years of experience conducting investigations and managing the investigative process
• Demonstrated analytical and investigative abilities. • Knowledge of and familiarity with data aggregation tools and investigative experience in government, the military or industry. • Proven experience conducting national security and counterintelligence investigations. • Experience conducting liaison with federal law enforcement and intelligence community agencies.
Typical Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
