The Senior Manager is required to manage a team of IT and business professionals to provide first line inbound client support (including: case management, problem resolution, solution identification and routing) and technology guidance for project intake (including: audit controls, and operational processes), to enable onboarding and continued support for the Bank’s enterprise data consumption platforms.

The incumbent will have at least 10+ years of progressive IT experience, preferably in the financial industry, with the ability to manage a team of technology-focused staff, the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently, along with a client-first mentality demonstrating strong relationship management and diplomacy skills.

The incumbent should also have a strong Project Management & Technical Support background. To lead the team, the individual must thrive on challenge, be proactive and dynamic, and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides advice and guidance to business partners and technical project teams as required regarding best practices in data project design solutions

  • Develops first line inbound inquiry processes and an effective quality monitoring program

  • Manages first line inbound inquiries logging and researching required information and engaging appropriate problem resolution participants

  • Supports platform operations and technology owners to ensure platform stability, capacity management, communicating with development teams and business partners

  • Establishes effective project oversight controls to ensure adherence to enterprise standards

  • Reviews and approves new data consumption platform onboarding initiatives to ensure conformance to guidelines for data projects and confirms the selected platforms and data sources

  • Enables and authorizes environment setups in conformance with prescribed architecture standards

  • Manages the Change Advisory Board for Enterprise Data Lake platform deployments

  • Ensures participant adherence to data governance requirements for delivering data from source locations to centralized platforms

  • Adheres to enterprise project gating and governance controls to ensure that projects meet all the performance, quality and compliance standards and conforms to appropriate methodology

  • Abides by enterprise project methodology and recognized project management processes

  • Champions project governance and processes

  • Accurately forecasts and manages assigned budget and provides monthly financial reporting for projects, in alignment with Finance standards

  • Manages resource and capacity management

  • Supervises, coaches and develops team members

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to find the right people to help get the job done

  • Must be a strategic thinker and be able to participate in and drive strategy discussions

  • Strong ability to influence and cultivate credible relationships to affect change

  • Proven track record of developing management talent through formal and informal mentoring

  • Demonstrated ability to assess priorities quickly and adapt as needed

  • Technology savvy with experience in:

  • building Big Data solutions using Hadoop and Hortonworks (including HDFS, YARN, Ambari) and other large-scale data consumption technologies and environments

  • Google Cloud and/or Azure

  • application systems design, development and deployment to multi-tenanted environments

  • security and access controls

  • code change / deployment controls and CiAD automated deployment processes


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of progressive technical and management experience within an IT function
