POSITION PROFILE

Reporting to Director, HR, the Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for a broad range of HR tasks relating to associate’s employment cycle. This role will collaborate with HR Business Partner (HRBP), supporting administrative components of HR Programs, employment changes and organizational initiative. This role also supports the documentation and maintenance of processes utilized across the team. The role will also provide first line support to associates with general inquiries and help educate/interpret HR policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Processes salary changes in HRIS including merit increases, promotions, scheduled step increases and communicates changes to payroll

  • Assist with the on-boarding of new employees, including new hire paperwork and initial orientation to Knoll

  • Responsible for managing the HR Toronto team mailbox providing first line of response for general inquiries from associates for Payroll, benefits, pension and HR issues.

  • Provide HR support in the areas of employee relations, performance management by coaching and providing guidance to associates and management.

  • Assist HRBP in the resolution of conflict situations in a manner that promotes a positive, equitable and results oriented culture

  • Work directly with HRBP and Supervisors to attract and retain staff

  • Complete all hourly recruitment and selection for associate positions which would include drafting the job postings, posting on websites, screening all resumes/candidates, coordinating/conducting interviews, drafting offer letters

  • Participates in the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures; provides interpretation as necessary; makes suggestions and recommendations on any revisions

  • Prepare miscellaneous reports and memos as requested

  • Identifies opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service delivery

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Demonstrates creative problem-solving to resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain information in an organized and concise way

  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to meet challenging deadlines

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Experience with HRIS, Applicant Tracking and Onboarding Systems

  • Autonomous with the ability to work in a team-driven environment

Required Experience

  • Completion of a relevant post-secondary program in Human Resources Management or equivalent

  • Working toward the Canadian Human Resources Professional (‘CHRP”) designation is an asset

  • Two (2) years related generalist experience in a client-focused Human Resources department, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Good knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and regulations
