Reporting to the Director of Architecture, as a Data Architect you will be charged with traversing and cataloging the network of data that exists within TouchBistro. Whether that data is generated from our point-of-sale platform, originates from our internal tools and systems, or is shared to us by our partners, you will be responsible to find the relationships within, ensure that data flows efficiently throughout our platform, and ultimately that TouchBistro is able to harness the full potential of this data.
Contribute to defining a target data architecture founded on standard data principles such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts and assure organizational alignment via roadmapping and continued advocacy
Document data sources, data structures, data flows, and data infrastructure throughout the organization to establish a common understanding and dialect
Design and Build data structures, data pipelines, and data infrastructure leveraging the support of subject matter experts to deliver new product functionality, share data with key partners, and build business intelligence within the organization
Evaluate external data sources to augment our data capabilities
Collaborate with and mentor development teams across the organization to design and implement effective data models and infrastructure
Working with departments across the organization to ensure their data initiatives are aligned to the architectural vision and redundancies are avoided
Oversee programs to cleanse, consolidate, and correlate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
Establish data policies around retention, privacy, anonymization, security, and removal across the organization
ALL ABOUT YOU
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Engineering or related field required
5+ years application development or database development experience
2+ years data architecture or data strategy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and ideas to all levels of employees and management
Core hands-on experience with data related skills such as data modeling, database design, extract transform load (ETL) processes, data visualization, working with unstructured data, and data warehousing
Experience with SQL-based database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, or Oracle
Experience with AWS suite of cloud-base tools and services supporting big data such as Kinesis, Athena, Lambda, Data Pipeline, and Redshift
Experience with NoSQL-based database management systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or ElasticSearch
