Job Summary

As one of the largest airport consultants in the World, AECOM provides multidisciplinary aviation services to airport owners/operators, airlines and transportation agencies. AECOM is currently recruiting for an experienced CAD Technician to join our specialist aviation team based in our well established Telford office.

Our aviation experience includes environmental, master planning, systems, terminal planning, engineering and design, construction supervision, transactions and financial advisory services for clients in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Our team of aviation specialists provide a fully integrated service and have the technical skills and experience to address a wide range of aviation developments.

As a CAD Technician, your role will be to support the Aviation team, on a wide variety of projects covering:

  • Master planning

  • Design development from Feasibility Studies through to Detailed Design packages over a wide range and scale of infrastructure projects

  • Support throughout construction stages and the provision of As-Built drawings

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working within an aviation team or similar projects/environment within a design consultancy and the ability to undertake designs in accordance with both UK and internationally recognised civil and military standards including CAA, ICAO and FAA.

Our clients are from the private and public sector and include Heathrow Airport Ltd, Gatwick Airports Ltd, Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Architects and Contractors both in the UK and International.

We are now looking to enhance and grow this team with individuals with a sound technical background that share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload.

Minimum Requirements

For this role, you will ideally be educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a CAD related engineering subject. You will also have the following:

  • Good working knowledge and experience of AutoCad

  • Some working knowledge of AutoDesk Civils 3D is desirable

  • Working knowledge or experience in BIM is desirable

  • Experience in the use of company and client CAD standards

  • Ability to undertake work in a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary environment where required

  • Self-motivated and able to work within tight deadlines when required.
