Proofpoint Senior Deals Desk Analyst in Sunnyvale, California

The Role

As a Sr. Deal Desk Analyst, you will be an intricate member of the Sales Operations organization, which is focused largely on supporting the Field Sales Team in deal pricing and helping the execution of our pricing strategy. The ideal candidate will be able to help manage between the organization goals and enabling the field to execute pricing strategies with customers.

Your day-to-day

  • Partner with our sales team to review customer deal estimates and make pricing structure recommendations, ensuring a competitive and profitable pricing structure

  • Be a subject matter expert in Proofpoint product pricing models, industry pricing, and cybersecurity purchasing trends

  • Work closely with Sales and Finance leadership to help maintain consistency and mutually beneficial (profitable) customer deals through our Channel Partners

  • Gather and organize data on current and historical customer deals/pricing and then develop models to interpret and analyze future deal pricing, and risk/reward profiles

  • Review all deal financials to ensure compliance and escalate to appropriate business leaders when necessary

  • Actively contribute to the continuing improvement and refinement of Deal Desk operations and processes

  • Regularly work cross-functionally with other departments including Finance, Legal and Product Management

What you bring to the team

  • 5-10 years of experience in Deals Desk, Sales Finance or Sales Operations

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and negotiation skills

  • Strong decision making skills, with the ability to leverage data sets for justification

  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and analytical individual who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong business acumen and financial modeling skills.

  • Knowledge of channel sales models helpful

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required

  • Solid understanding and expertise in pricing along with the confidence to engage sales reps to utilize the best pricing strategy
