LinkedIn is looking for a Principal Staff Software Engineer to provide thought leadership for the engineering and operations organization. This role will build products and services by bringing broad engineering knowledge to improve LinkedIn design, code and test software environments. In addition, they will lead transformative projects that will keep LinkedIn products competitive across the industry.

Responsibilities: * Build and ship software at scale to deliver impact * Drive architectural decisions and implementation across the engineering organization * Lead cross team/cross functional discussions and drive alignment on product/technology strategy * Establish a culture that values diverse viewpoints while navigating complex decisions * Define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems while balancing business impact, operational impact and cost benefits of design and architectural choices * Act as the primary domain expert to influence technology choices * Lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation

Basic Qualifications: * BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience * 7+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 5 of those years in a technical leadership position

Preferred Qualifications: * 12+ years’ experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions * 12+ years programming experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C/C++ * Experience in designing and implementing technologies for highly distributed platforms.
* Familiarity with multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, etc. ), languages (C++, Python, etc. ) and providers * Experience leading high-impact, cross-organization initiatives.
