POSITION SUMMARY

The overall responsibility of this position is to provide oversight and ensure compliance of infection control initiatives and protocols. The Infection Control Specialist is to work in accordance with current professional standards, licensure and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures.

All employees, if applicable, are expected to adhere to the BSHR Automobile Safety Program per policy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Registered Nurse-Bachelor’s Level Degree preferred.

  2. Long Term Care Healthcare Experience preferred.

  3. Experience in Infection Prevention & Control – two (2) years’ experience preferred.

  4. Expert knowledge of prevention and infection control standards required.

  5. Local travel required.

  6. To ensure safe and competent patient care, the individual must have a current licensed issued as a Registered Nurse in the

state Virginia. Persons who hold a license or certification are required to hold and maintain the credentialing.
