RL Canning Security Analyst in Sterling, Illinois

Position Summary:

The Security Analyst performs a variety of network and computer and provides support to customers. Maintains and utilizes network management applications to identify network faults, to ensure the provision of data or other telecommunications access to customers, and the movement of information from one location to the other. Responsible for assisting Elections Authorities throughout an assigned region to improve Cybersecurity status, in-person and by phone.

Essential Duties:

  • Evaluates and troubleshoots computer and network systems.

  • Recognizes and perform functional escalations in situations beyond the normal scope of responsibility.

  • Provides technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.

  • Understands and supports the organization’s policies, procedures, processes, goals, and objectives.

  • Facilitates support resolution and usability tasks to meet customer needs.

  • Delivers network components and solutions that meet expectations for quality, timeliness and cost efficiency.

  • Works with a metric-driven support model to ensure quality performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2+ years' IT experience.

  • Basic understanding of Cisco firewalls and networking (routing and switching)

  • Strong verbal communication skills and a positive attitude.

  • Experience working with critical service components or network technologies found in industry standard frameworks, methodologies or technical certifications (ITIL, CCNA, etc...).

  • Experience following SOX, SSAE 16 (SAS 70), ISO, etc... level policies and process controls.

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Work Experience

  • Security+ or Network+ certifications preferred.
