  1. Follows clinical laboratory procedures and policies in the performance of routine and specialized stains.

  2. Performs and troubleshoots quality control.

  3. Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, equipment and computers in assigned section(s).

  4. Able to perform basic troubleshooting on instrumentation.

  5. Provides assistance and information regarding specimen requirements, ordering instructions, specimen preservation and result inquiry.

  6. Participates in training of students and new members of the laboratory staff in lab testing procedures as needed.

  7. Assists in appropriate inventory control and practices cost containment.

  8. Supports and sustains mission, vision, and values of the organization.

  9. Follows compliance mandatories, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.


2:00 pm - 10:30pm

This position is part of a rotating every other weekend schedule.

The laboratory technologist performs analytical procedures independently and participates in technical activities of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Provides recommendations to leadership about opportunities for improvement. Employees that are successful in the role possess high attention to detail and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.


Associates Degree as required for Florida State License

Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in at least 1 area of responsibility from the State of Florida


3 years of laboratory experience preferred, New Grads will be considered.
