As the Director of Food & Nutrition Services, you will have responsibility for the Food & Nutrition services within the hospital, ensuring the delivery of consistent customer service excellence and patient satisfaction. You will provide leadership and 24-hour accountability for the Food and Nutrition Service function, services and programs. You will also maintain and monitor utilization of resources, physical space, equipment, department protocols, equipment, standards, policies, and practices.

Serving the community since 1976, Northside Hospital is a 288-bed facility, offering a full range of services including interventional stroke care; full-service orthopedic and spine treatment; a 24-hour emergency department; preventative and corrective cardiac care; and general surgery. As the only nationally recognized Comprehensive Stroke Center in Pinellas County, our technologically advanced facility allows our superior physicians and nursing staff to care for our growing community. Our focus on quality and safety is continuously recognized by The Joint Commission. With campus-based specialized units, such as the Tampa Bay Heart Institute; the Neuroscience Institute for Interventional Neuroradiology and neurologic care; an outpatient Heart Failure Clinic; and Fast Track emergency service, Northside Hospital continues to enhance and expand its services to better serve the St. Petersburg community.

What you will do in this role * Ensure competency and development of staff through education and training. Ensuring new staff is oriented to specific job duties with particular focus on safety and infection control. * Foster effective collaboration between departments and other services to ensure an integrated approach in providing services to meet the needs of the patients served. * Develop, implement and monitor performance improvement plans to ensure compliance and address performance improvement opportunities. Take ownership and demonstrate service excellence principles in all interactions with the patient, physician and others. Support and recognize physicians as an important customer. * Ensure patient's safety, dignity and privacy at all times. * Actively support facility community efforts, and represent the hospital in the community through participation in community organizations, agencies, speaker bureaus etc. Promote a professional image and act as an ambassador inside and outside the organization. * Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in managing productivity standards. Continuously evaluate and assess work process/design to enhance productivity and service delivery to meet stakeholder expectations and business goals. * Schedule and assign staff effectively; continuously evaluate staff assignments to ensure quality care and service delivery to meet stakeholder needs.

  • Associate's Degree in related field with applicable experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Finance, Business Management, Healthcare Administration or similar preferred.
  • Master’s degree is preferable.
  • Experience in hospital food service required, with 3-5 years management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of food service activities and duties, terminology and nomenclature required.
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent required.
  • Registered Dietician with Florida state licensure preferred.
